Actress Alyson Hannigan hangs a ‘for rent’ sign on Santa Monica home

Actress Alyson Hannigan and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, have put their longtime home in Santa Monica up for lease at $17,500 a month.

The Mission Revival-style residence, built in 1930, is described in the listing as a coveted beauty. Entered through a gated courtyard with a pond, the house features fanciful accents, arched doors and windows and vintage tile. A bell tower sits atop the front entry.

About 4,200 square feet of white-walled space includes a formal dining room, an updated kitchen, an office/den, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. There are period fireplaces in the living room, family room and master bedroom.

A swimming pool, various patios, lawns and lush landscaping fill the grounds. There’s also a two-car garage.

Hannigan and Denisof bought the house in 2002 from screenwriter-director Mark Steven Johnson for about $1.9 million, records show. Last year, the couple paid $7.89 million for a mini-estate on half an acre in Brentwood.

Hannigan, 42, was a regular on “How I Met Your Mother” (2005-14). She stars in the 2016 film “Do You Take This Man.”

Denisof, 50, appeared on the television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” with Hannigan as well as the spin-off “Angel.” His other credits include the series “Grimm” and “Finding Carter.”
