‘Star Wars’ at the box office

Another "Star Wars" trilogy began after Disney announced Oct. 30, 2012, that it was buying Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion. Lucas said that he has story treatments for Episodes Seven, Eight and Nine in the space opera, and that he is handing over a "treasure trove" of intellectual property to producer Kathleen Kennedy. Lucas now wants to "be a fan now. I sort of look forward to it." The first six films in the "Star Wars" franchise have raked in more than $4.3 billion worldwide.
